PERSEPHONE - A START

PERSEPHONE - A START oil on canvas 22"x28" This is the very first stage of a new painting that I made yesterday. It will be Persephone emerging from her captivity in the underworld. She is bring Spring back to the frozen Earth as will be represented by a sprouting seed that I will put in her hand. I want to make her a lot younger looking and also, need to make the background look more like frozen farm fields and less like the arctic ocean. I might put Demeter, searching for her lost daughter, in the background. Updates to follow.
